VIRTUAL REALITY APPLIED TO REALISTIC LANDSCAPE PRESENTATION

This workshop explores 3D visualization techniques in modern virtual reality systems. 3D modeling of geometric objects, texturing, lighting and implementing audio content are important for overall qualities of virtual reality space. They are the key elements of immersion into virtual reality. The workshop focus point is 3D terrain modeling with accurate data of real space. On the terrain participants will add grass, trees and other objects. This landscape will have textures applied and ambient sounds. By using a game engine – Unity 3D as main development platform it is possible to create very appealing visualizations with a high level of interactivity while maintaining a rather straight forward workflow. Hardware which will be available on the workshop is Oculus Rift CV1. Possibilities of virtual reality systems for mobile platform will also be shown during the workshop by using Google VR SDK application for Unity 3D. The aim of the workshop is to give participants basic knowledge to create virtual reality applications on modern systems.
